Kippi Mack-vonDuhn holds a current K-8 General Education Teacher License, as well as, a K-12 Art Education endorsement for the state of Colorado.
She officially retired 1/2010, after successfully teaching over 30 years for the public and private school systems of Colorado:
Successfully taught preschool through college age students
A graduate of Loretto Heights/Regis University, (created her own program which was designed to use the arts and movement to teach all academic subjects)
Graduated with a BA in Education (with a Minor in Movement), 3.9 grade point average, Magma Cum Laud and the special "Degree with Distinction" given to her by the Loretto Heights/Regis University staff and administration
Lesley College presented her with a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction (with an emphasis in Creative Arts)
Successfully created, implemented and perfected her method of teaching (later to be titled The Pathways Through Art Learning Method)
Designed curriculum and taught for: The Museum of Natural History, Denver; Gingerbread House, Littleton; Cheeseman Park Academy, Denver; Red Rocks Community College, Lakewood; Douglas County Schools, Douglas County and; private lessons and classes for people 5 years old through adults
Tutored children in reading, writing, math, art, theater and organizational and social skills
Selected into Douglas County School's Building Resource Teacher/Mentoring Program and opened seven of Douglas County's New Schools (1-Elementary, 3-Middle and 3-High)
Trained and certified in Positive Behavior Support (P.B.S), Aggressive Replacement Therapy (A.R.T), Mentoring, First Aid, and CPR
Studied art in Italy, through the University of Northern Colorado
Artist: ceramics, watercolor, mixed media, sculpture, jewelry, textiles, batiks and challenge a variety of other unique mediums
Favorites: subject matters - animals; mediums - ceramics, watercolor and mixed media; things to do - create, commission pet portraits, communicate through art and share and help people of any age
Kippi developed her artistic skills while teaching pre-school through college age students for the past thirty-one years.
Her style of learning and teaching have always been driven by the love of the arts! She enjoys working and challenging a large variety of mediums. Her sense of play and humor radiate through her and are often reflected in her art. She was born with a deep love for animals, the arts and sharing with people. Her creativity and talents overflow in all that she does.
Kippi has always enjoyed a challenge and has enjoyed "stretching" the large variety of mediums she has had the opportunity to explore. Ceramics, batiks, watercolor, beading and mixed media rank towards the top of her favorites. Her attitude of "no problem is too big to solve; you just have an opportunity to be more creative" defines her. Kippi has a unique ability to help others find the true and hidden talents they harbor inside. She helps others create by encouraging and developing their own diverse thinking and problem-solving skills.
